For far too long, modern design has been put on a pedestal — more of a flourish or an indulgent splurge, but not a necessary part of our lives.
Design Necessities sought to make it a part of everyday living, just like the original modernists intended.
Charles Eames said, “The primary condition for design is need.” Design Necessities takes that to heart, proving good design serves a functional need. There is no reason to be scared or intimidated of good design. A modern chair is just that — a place to rest tired legs. It serves a necessary universal purpose. At its core, good design is about practicality. It has a job to do. We brought this idea to life through a series of print ads in premium design magazine such as DWELL and INTERIOR DESIGN.
